It really doesn't get much better than it is right now. Plenty of action in the bays and rivers with the stripers! Anglers arriving early and going late are finding plenty of breaking fish. The larger fish are being caught deeper. mostly small stripers under the 18" minimum on top of the breakers.
The larger fish are hitting 1 oz. bucktails, striper jigs and metal jigs.
Slowly motor up to the school, staying off about 10 yds. Cut the motors and drift thru, working the baits just off the bottom.
Small bluefish are mixed with the stripers.
Some REALLY good reports from the guys chasing flounder on the eastern side of the shipping channel around Stone Pile. Work the flounder rigs on bottom with a pc of cut spot or bluefish, minnows will work too. Dont be afraid to use a BIG strip! Cut the strip in a long triangle and spit the end so that it "flutters"
Offshore action is also fantastic. Guys are finding dolphin to bail and tuna around the hot dog, bones. Kingfish are keeping the guys busy around the jackspot.
