Well the long awaited day will finally be here Saturday!! Opening day of the trophy Striper season in Md. First I want to remind everyone that it will be EXTREMLY crowded. Please try to give each other plenty of room to pull their lures ands bring in the fish. There will also be a ton of planer boards being used.
From the reports it looks like if you can find 50 degree water anywhere near the shipping channel you should find the fish. Some brutes have been caught recently. Some boats are catching over 20 fish per day up to 50 ". Chartruese and white Parachutes on Tandem and Umbrella Rigs have been the choice lures. The 11" Twisters are taking their fair share of the big ones too!! We are getting very good reports back from them. A 44" Striper was caught yesterday on a 12oz. Ruby Lips with a 11" Twiser/Chartruese.
